Lumix POS · Lumix Solutions
Privacy notice
Version of October 9, 2026
This notice explains, in plain language, what personal data Lumix POS processes, why, where it is stored and how you can exercise your rights under Costa Rica's Law 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of their Personal Data.
Who is responsible
Lumix Solutions operates Lumix POS: this site (lumixsolutions.app) and the app (app.lumixsolutions.app). For any question about your data, email osanchez25@hotmail.com or message us on WhatsApp at +506 8314 8002.
When a restaurant uses Lumix POS, the restaurant decides what data it records about its customers, employees and suppliers, and it is responsible for that information. Lumix Solutions processes it on the restaurant's behalf, only to provide the service.
This site uses no cookies or trackers
The pages on lumixsolutions.app use no cookies, ads or third-party tracking tools. We count visits from the server's own logs (page requested, date, browser and approximate country), without cookies and without identifying you.
What data the service processes
- Account data: each user's name, email, phone, role and permissions, and their PIN for shared tablets. Passwords are stored as a hash, never in readable form.
- Data the restaurant enters: sales, orders and payments; customers (for example name, ID number and email for the electronic invoice); employees and payroll (salaries, deductions and social security); suppliers, purchases, inventory and accounting.
- Hacienda credentials: the username and password for the electronic invoicing system, the cryptographic key (.p12) and its PIN. They are stored encrypted and only used to sign and send the business's documents.
- Device and session data: the app's session cookie (needed to keep you signed in), the browser and device type, and the data the app keeps on the device so it keeps working offline.
- Logs: server logs (IP address, date, page and browser) and the in-app activity log, such as discounts, voids and settings changes.
What we use it for
- Providing the service: taking orders, charging, and keeping the accounting, inventory and payroll.
- Issuing the business's electronic documents and sending them to Hacienda on its behalf.
- Support, fixing errors and improving the service.
- Keeping accounts secure and preventing abuse.
- Contacting the business about the service and its billing, and meeting legal obligations.
We do not use the data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.
Where it is stored
Data is stored in the cloud, on servers run by Lumix Solutions, which may be located outside Costa Rica. Each company's data is isolated in the database, not only in the app.
How long we keep it
For as long as the service is active. When it ends, the business can export its information and we then delete it, except what the law requires us to keep, such as electronic tax documents and accounting records. Backups are replaced over time and server logs are kept for a limited period.
Who we share it with
- Hacienda: the electronic documents the business issues, with the data the law requires.
- Providers that help us run the service, such as cloud hosting, system emails and error monitoring, only as needed and under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities, when a law or court order requires it.
We do not sell or rent personal data.
How we protect it
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the site and in the app.
- Hacienda credentials and cryptographic keys encrypted at rest.
- Access separated per business, with roles, permissions and a PIN per person, and a log of sensitive actions.
- Regular database backups.
No system is infallible. If an incident affects your data, we will tell you without delay and take steps to contain it.
Your rights
As the owner of your data, you have the right to:
- Access: know what data about you we process.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: ask for it to be deleted, when there is no legal obligation to keep it.
- Objection: object to a specific use of your data.
To exercise them, email osanchez25@hotmail.com or message us on WhatsApp at +506 8314 8002 with your name and what you need. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within five business days at most.
If you are a customer or employee of a restaurant that uses Lumix POS, you can go to the restaurant first, since it is responsible for that data; we help it handle your request. You can also contact Costa Rica's data protection agency (PRODHAB).
